Established in 1883, the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium is run by Delhi Districts Cricket Association  is the second oldest international cricket venue behind the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

The stadium was renamed as Arun Jaitley Stadium Sep 2019. With a seating capacity 55000 the ground has witnessed many unforgettable cricketing moments.

Indian National team has a special connection to this ground as the team has won 7 successive Tests between 1993-2007.

Feroz Shah Kotla is the home to the Delhi Ranji team and the Delhi Daredevils.

Historic Records@ Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium– Delhi

• Anil Kumble’s famous 10/74 against Pakistan in 1999 makes him the second bowler after Jim Laker to take all the ten wickets in an innings.
• In 1983, Sunil Gavaskar scored his 29th Test century at Feroz Shah Kotla equalling Sir Donald Bradman’s record for the most number of centuries in Test cricket.
• In 2005, Sachin Tendulkar went past Sunil Gavaskar’s record of 34 Test centuries, with his 35th Test century against Sri Lanka at this venue

New Pavilion Stand @Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium

To recognize the outstanding achievements of King Kohli in the field of cricket, a pavilion stand at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium was named after him.

Apart from Virat Kohli, Bishan Singh Bedi and Mohinder Amarnath are the two other players who have stands named after them.

Feroz Shah Kotla ground – Pitch Report

Delhi has typical sub-continent track, where the spinners dominate the game. Even in IPL matches, this track has assisted the spinners.  Low bounce on this track makes it tough for the  batters. 

During the toss dew also plays a role hence skippers after winnings the toss go with bowling first.

Feroz Shah Kotla has been a very happy hunting ground hence team chasing the score won more matches than the team batting first.
